Our Story
ग्रामपंचायत मान्याचीवाडी (ता. पाटण, जि. सातारा) हे एक सुंदर डोंगराळ गाव. इथले पिंपळ, वड, आंबा, चिंच आणि अनेक वारसा वृक्ष हे गावाच्या इतिहासाचे साक्षीदार आहेत. प्रत्येक वृक्षाची नोंद ठेवणे, त्याचे संरक्षण करणे आणि पुढच्या पिढीला त्याबद्दल माहिती देणे — हीच या प्रकल्पाची मुख्य कल्पना.
This GIS portal is a public, transparent, and living record of every tree in our village. Using modern GPS technology, mobile field surveys, and open data principles, we are creating a tree-by-tree map of Manyachiwadi — something no village in our region has attempted before at this level of detail.
How It Works
Field Survey
Trained surveyors walk the village with a mobile app, capturing GPS, photos, and measurements for each tree.
Verification
The GP admin team reviews each entry, checks species identification, and approves for public display.
Public Map
Every approved tree appears on this portal — searchable, filterable, and freely accessible to all.
Protection
Heritage trees are flagged for special protection. The data helps plan conservation and plantation drives.
Why Heritage Trees Matter
वारसा वृक्ष म्हणजे फक्त जुने झाडच नव्हे — ते आपल्या गावाच्या संस्कृतीचे, इतिहासाचे आणि पर्यावरणाचे जिवंत स्मारक आहेत. देवळाजवळचे पिंपळ, पारावरचा वड, विहिरीजवळचा आंबा — प्रत्येकाची एक खास गोष्ट असते. ती गोष्ट जपून ठेवणे हेच आपले कर्तव्य.
